The weekend with the Rents was great. Lots of good food including the best crab cakes I have ever had at Rock Bottom Brewery Friday night. Saturday’s lunch at the ESPN Zone and dinner at Uno Chicago Bar and Grill ended the same way, with a large cookie in a pan covered in ice cream. The one at the ESPN Zone was better in my opinion, it didn’t get soggy with the melted ice cream. Thanks Mom and Dad. Pictures from the trip will be up soon.

My Mom had t-shirts made for the trip. They were navy and had white writing that said “Becky ‘The Brick’ House.” That is what they call her on the campus radio station when they broadcast the games. Listen live this Wednesday at 7 PM MST for the first round of the RMAC Shootout. For all you Regis readers out there the first 100 students to arrive with ID get in free.

Last night I laid down to have a quick cat nap at around 9:30ish. I woke up at 5 still in my clothes from yesterday, so I changed and went back to bed. I finally woke up at 8 when my alarm went off. That was a great nap turned night’s sleep. I had a dream about the field house and they changed the offices. It was very odd because Kelly Darby (a lady who helps out at mass quite often, and works in university relations) ended up working for Athletics. There was also a pie shop in the field house that had quite a few different types of top crust. Odd dream.

I got my first Asian History test back yesterday. Fr. Guyer told us that he had never had two people get perfect scores on the first test. He also told us that he has never had such a wide range of scores (100 to 12 [yes, 12 was the lowest score]). 7 people got Ds or Fs on the test. He told us this and then we had a fire drill, so we got our tests outside. I got a 92. I was really scared when he told us that there were 7 failing scores.

This is a sad facebook group, but it is a good cause, so please look for her.

This was a very good special comment by Keith Olbermann. It has a much different feel then the 5th anniversary of 9/11 special comment. It was much more light hearted, but still was an amazing comment on the current administration.

One final thing. This is my 100th post. Just thought you ought to know.

That picture was a huge hit yesterday. Becky absolutely loved it.

Thank God it is Friday. It was a very very long week and I am looking forward to just hanging out with the parents this weekend.

Last night for thrills The Regurgitator was on campus. I don’t know how he does it, but at one point I saw the balloon already in his mouth before he popped it. The most amazing thing he can do though is smoke a cigarette, but not exhale smoke. Later, he blows the smoke into a bubble, it is amazing.

The last two regular season games are this weekend, both here at Regis starting at 5. Join us!! Next Wednesday they will host their first round RMAC tourney game in the evening at some point.

I WON!!!! Yes, I won the weight gaining competition last night. I gained 13 lbs. in 24 hours. I did it with help from a great second dinner with Kay, Jean, and J'eannine at IHOP and a gallon of water in the last 30 minutes before the weigh in. it was great fun.

Congrats to the RUWBB team who moved back up in the polls. The poll was finally released today and they are now 19th in the nation but still fourth in the region. GO THEM!!! Here is a great picture of Becky "the Brick" House I stole from facebook. Mom and Dad arrive tomorrow for senior weekend, how sad.

Today is Ash Wednesday, and as always the priest at mass told us to add salt to our food so that we remember that it is Lent. Every year the priest says that, and Fr. Sheeran mentioned it.

This is quite frankly the best segment on TV ever. I love Countdown and this is my favorite part. I also love Oddball. This is yesterdays segment, with an amazing first story.

Finally this story is terrifying. The fact that our own DoJ is so wrong scares me.

Congratulations to my boss, Quinn Waller, who today found out officially that she will be having a baby. Quinn and Brent can expect their first child just six days after their first anniversary, October 13th. I have been asking Quinn if she is pregnant since she got back from here honeymoon. Congrats!!!

This ruling scares me. I understand the need for some protection of state secrets, but I feel as though there must be a public record to show that the court at least considered the legality of the holding of a person.

Last night I saw An Inconvenient Truth for the first time. I thought it was good, but they spent too much time on the personal Gore story, which I wasn’t that interested in. All things considered though, thumbs up!

Last night I had a dream that involved a whole lot of singing and Pearl was pregers at the end of it. Weird weird dream.

Finally, two of the RAs in West are doing a program for Fat Tuesday to see who can gain the most weight today. We weighed in last night at midnight and tonight at midnight we will weigh out. Winner gets a $20 gift card wherever they want it. I’m excited.

I usually don’t update today because I have a 9am class, but this story is ridiculous. This is just another reason why Texas is so big, they get lost before the travel into any other state. Have a good day!

Congratulations to the RUWBB team for the win over Mines on Friday. Because CSU-Pueblo lost last night, the team has captured a threepeat. Yes, they have won the RMAC regular season three years in a row now. Good job ladies.

In other news I was informed this week that I will not be back out at Camp Reed this summer. No reason was offered nor any personal touches in the email that was sent to me. I now have to find a job for the summer. I’m thinking of interning for one of the WA senators in Spokane. We shall see.

I am all caught-up on House now. BEST SHOW EVER!!!

KHQ is way over playing this story. Yes, I understand that it is a very big story, but seriously, does it call for three days as being the top story on your website when nothing new is added?

Today mass was said by Fr. Louis Morrone, O.P.. I really like him, and he asked the eternal question of “if you were put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?” I like the question, but I feel as though in the homily setting it is code for “I have nothing else to go on.” However for all you Kuders, you know that last Christmas was just a dream.

Have a good day!!

I in the last week have become addicted to the show House. I would watch it on peekvid.com, but it has been down for the last few days. They really need to start back up because I need to watch more House. It is a very good show, and all should start watching it.

Last night was a good game against Colorado Christian. Here is the story. Becky started again!!!! Also, she had an assist in the first play of the game, but they didn’t give it to her. Tonight we have Metro. It will be a good game.

My new roommate sleeps way to much. He went to bed at 1:15ish and is still asleep.

This, I do believe, is the greatest list of movies of all time. Or maybe not.

Last night in Denver there was very cool very cold fog. It was very Exorcist, very creepy and cool.

Finally, why does the SR not have this story, yet I got an email from KHQ about it. It isn’t that hard people, just don’t do drugs!!!! Just don’t do them, especially if you are supposed to play a basketball game the next night. Idiots.

Big shout out to my sister Amanda for the best Christmas gift ever, a Breakfast sandwich maker. Breakfast sandwiches make great lunches. Thanks Amanda.

Becky and I had Family Dinner last night, Pizza Balls. Very good, and then I only needed one more number to win the plane ticket last night at thrills. Becky did win a gift cars to cold stone thought.

Good luck to Becky and the RUWBB team tonight. They will play Colorado Christian tonight. You can listen to both games tonight by going here. Here are the game notes for this weekends games, and in case you had not heard, they are now ranked 4th in region and 19th in the country. Here is the press release. Go them!!!

That is all I really have to say. Have a good day.

Okay. I think we have all learned a lesson. Monday and Wednesday are not good for me updating. Dang.

In the SR today there was an article about the School District cancelling an all elementary school concert in the arena. This is one of the ways they hope to help the Budget problem. To rent the Arena (or for you old folks the Coliseum) and bus the kids would cost $12,000. But don’t worry, they still have athletics. I can only imagine the letter to the editor that will be sent calling for this 10 year tradition to be continued. The district will say that it is better than cancelling a program, and tell people to call their representatives in Olympia. Look, now I won’t have to update you on this story for the rest of the month. But back to the bigger issue of school funding, I feel as though the first thing that should lose funding is athletics. If parents want them so much they can either pay for their child to just compete in private leagues or help fundraise. Fundraising for athletic teams is much easier than fundraising for math.

In other news this week the Thursday Thrills is Poker and Bingo. There will be prizes including a Wii and a plane ticket up to $400 to anywhere in the US. I am going to that after I do family dinner with Becky. We had not had family dinner in a long time, so we decided to do it this week.

And finally Nancy just sounds ridiculous when she says she needs a bigger plane. I don’t know how I feel thought. I cant believe the DNC doesn’t have a plane that they are willing to give her. Have a good day!

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

Hello all. So apparently I already failed to update every day this week. Sorry.

Yesterday was so nice it was amazing. The high was 59. Today it looks like it will get up to 57. I love this city. I already put pants on, but I might change to shorts.

Yesterday Bush sent his budget up to the hill. The $2.9 trillion budget made his tax cuts permanent at a ten year cost of $1.6 trillion. I don’t understand that. Why not ax the tax cuts for a year ($160 billion) and fund the war the way it ought to be? If we didn’t have the tax cuts for the next 2.5 years, we could pay for the war up to this point. What ever happened to that un-written rule that parents would pass a better world down to their children, not a huge deficit that puts our economy on ice just as much as people not getting a tax refund.

On a different note please keep Michael Ferro in your prayers. They found a brain tumor in his Pituitary Gland. If anyone on campus is interested the regular Tuesday night liturgy is mass this week and it will be followed by a prayer service for Michael.

And finally who doesn’t like this song. Everyone knows ever word to this classic so sing along.

Sunday, February 04, 2007

Hello. It has been quite a week and I am sorry for not updating. Anthony and I need to stop getting into the same funk for not updating. It makes Becky very mad when she has nothing to read.

Today there was a very interesting mass. This was the first reading. Everyone know the song that goes with this passage, “Hear I am Lord.” For some reason we didn’t sing that song though. And I kind of have to ask myself why not. In the liturgy planning meetings all year we have tried to come up with strategies to get more people to sing, so why not sing the song that everyone knows and is expecting to sing.

This week I moved into my new room. I have a roommate now, and it is okay. The worst part is that I have another schedule to work around, so I can not work with the lights on in the room until 3 am. Also, the new bathroom buddies I have are not nearly as clean as my last ones. EWWWW.

A big thanks goes out to Kay, Jean, Lara, and J'eannine for a fun Friday evening. We went to Beau Jo’s for Pizza and then Jillians for a little bowling for my birthday. I bowled 150ish. Go me.

Today is the Super Bowl. I’m not even sure if I am going to watch it. I really couldn’t care less about who wins, and last years commercials sucked, so there is no reason to watch it.

Congrats to the RUWBB team. Last weekend they beat Metro by 20 points, and Colorado Christian. This week they beat UCCS and Mines. Go them!!! Becky started the game last night against Mines. It was very exciting.

Have a good day, and my goal this week is to update every day, so we will see how that goes.
