Author Robert Updegraff who once said, “To get all there is out of living, we must employ our time wisely, never being in too much of a hurry to stop and sip life, but never losing our sense of the enormous value of a minute.” That has kind of been my mantra for the semester. It has also been my excuse for not updating. Woops!

Sorry about that.

So, life is good. I lead a retreat called Kairos this semester. We went on the retreat last weekend, and it went better than I ever could have hoped for.

Classes-wise, life is kind of underwhelmingly-overwhelming. Media and Politics bores me to an unimaginable extent. Book reports seem a little below me. In-Depth Reporting always seems to be a struggle to get out of bed for. I just feel like my story is boring and serving no purpose at all. US Elections and Political Behavior, like any US politics course, involves far to much laser pointer and far too little excitement. Environmental Politics is interesting, but three hours on Wednesday nights are a little much. Also, the paper for that class should be interesting. And finally, International Organizations is fascinating. Well done Dr. Schmidt, you have pulled me into my subject matter and made me care about it.

In other sectors of my life, I am rather boring. I took a nap on my sofa this early evening, which was really nice. Working in the University Ministry office is boring, but at least it pays.

Erik and I had a long over due meal last night at Old Chicago. The saving grace of that meal was the dessert gigantic cookie. Those meals have been my saving grace this semester and my sanity is deeply tied to them. Planning those meals have certainly not been easy; plans revolving around public transport schedules are not nearly as enjoyable as one would hope. But, thanks for being my tie to sanity.

Other than that, I don’t really know what to say. 6 days until I return to Spokane for Thanksgiving. I cannot wait for that. I cannot wait to see the majority of the Florence crew again. I miss them all so very badly.
